The system uses two values (that you provide) to run its Forecast Test Case:
Price per unit is your guess or assumption regarding some future company valuation.
Date is your guess or assumption as to when that future valuation might occur.
After entering (or modifying) these values, the system will draw the corresponding Valuation Graph (prices over time) including: already-recorded historic valuations, the most recent/current valuation, and an extrapolation to your future forecast valuation. The system also will calculate the implied Compound Annual Growth Rate (CAGR) reflecting the change from current valuation to your future forecast valuation.
Depending on your ownership, the system may compare and contrast performance metrics for you: estimates based on today's valuation versus estimates based on your future forecast valuation. These performance metrics always assume that your equity is fully vested, which may or may not be the case.

Here is how we calculate headline numbers:
Investment is the aggregate sum of quantity x price for those rows in the table where you are the receiver (e.g., buyer) of securities.
Realized Return is the aggregate sum of quantity x price for those rows in the table where you are the sender (e.g., seller) of securities.
Current Value is the number of shares that you currently hold, multiplied by the most recent Valuation per share that we have recorded.
Capital Gain is Current Value plus Realized Return minus Investment.
ROI is Capital Gain dividend by Investment, expressed as a percentage.
